Dear all
The weather has been dire for country walking since the start of the New Year, incessant rain and floods etc. We had a family holiday in Pembrokeshire during February Half Term when I went out walking locally for three days encountering, mud, deep mud, much running water and extensive deep ponding, soggy fields, climbing over, under and around fallen trees, so not a pleasant experience.
I think fields south of the A30 may be best avoided at the moment although they do need to be walked
However talking to a local farmer out walking at Nimmer this morning he confirmed that local fields are now drying out nicely so time to venture out again perhaps?
This is what is planned:-
Chaffcombe Village Walk Thursday 26th March at 10.00am
Village Hall – Chaffcombe Gate – Cricket Lane (E) – Ashton (N) – Knowle Lane (W) – Woodhouse Farm – cross stream and track to Cycle Path – Mill House -Chaffombe Lane (E) along dam etc) – Village Hall
We are likely to encounter mud crossing fields etc so good footware will ne nedded.
Hope you can join me to enjoy spring
Best wishes
