A planning application is being made by Cricket St Thomas Golf Club concerning a landfill on the Golf Course

This if allowed to go ahead will have a significant impact on the quality of life for  all those who live and work in Chaffcombe, Cudworth , Knowle St Giles, and Cricket Malherbie.

Key information about this proposal

  • Over 140,000 tonnes of waste inert material imported into the parish making this the single LARGEST INERT WASTE LANDFILL IN SOMERSET.

  • Almost 300 extra lorry movements per week over a year.

  • Over 14,000 extra lorry movements a year on narrow unsuitable roads.

  • Severe disruption for 6 days per week to all traffic wanting access the A30 from the villages.

  • Traffic diverted down an unclassified road (New Lane) which in places is less than 8 feet wide. with few passing places.

  • Noise Congestion, Odour and Dust for up to 12 hours per day.

  • Traffic mayhem at the top of Knapps Lane.

  • If  you care about your village , the Environment and your quality of life please please object to this proposal.
