Proceeds of Coffee Morning

The last Chaffcombe Village Hall coffee morning of the season was on Weds 3rd May. The hall was buzzing by 10.45 with people QUEUING for coffee and looking forward to the bluebell walk in Park Woods led by John and Valerie Godsmark.
A total of £201.60 was donated to Somerset Wildlife Trust.
Thank you to everyone who came, donated and helped.
Every Autumn, the coffee mornings start in October and run every first Weds of the month until May (with a break in April for Easter) 10.30-12.
The aim of the mornings is simply social – a chance to chat with neighbours and visitors.
However, much appreciated donations are taken for ‘the charity of the month’ in payment for excellent coffee/tea, Sue Tye’s delicious homemade cakes and cheese scones, bric a brac, plants and Chris Gould’s apple juice.
This season, Oct 2016 – May 2017 we have taken a total of £967 for various charities.
We start again on Weds Oct 4th (donations to RNLI) but you don’t have to wait until October because Val Bracher is holding a coffee morning ( plus cake and plant sale) in the V Hall Weds 5th July in aid of Newsline Chard ie. a local talking newspaper for the visually and physically impaired.
