Successful Fund Raising for Village Hall

SUCCESSFUL FUND RAISING PROGRAM NOW COVERS COSTS OF VILLAGE HALL IMPROVEMENTS

The fund raising program, co-ordinated by Mary Butler, which commenced in January 2015 has now successfully raised  £10239 by the end of July, excluding grant support. This sum, when added to other monies available, should now fully cover the full costs of  the  construction of the recently completed new storage area and also the ongoing internal alterations, due to be completed at the end of September.

A  substantial grant was awarded to the Village Hall by South Somerset District Council on 15th July, at one of its regular council meetings, for 50% of the £14,382 estimated costs of the internal alterations ( ie excluding the storage area.)  We have also been very well supported by Chaffcombe Parish Council who have awarded  us a grant of £500.

The Trustees would like to express their appreciation to the many local residents who have supported the fund raising efforts by organising and supporting many local events and/or made generous individual donations. Also to SSDC and the Parish Council for supporting our project by making grant funds available.
