A longer walk this month!!! with the possibility of coffee on the way finishing up with lunch in Ilminster. Tuesday 4th March meeting at Chaffcombe Village Hall at 10.00 a.m.

Next walk:      Tuesday  4th March 2014 starting from Chaffcombe Village Hall, TA20 4BH at 10.00 a.m.       Weather permitting of course!    Please wear suitable footwear as it may be very slippery and muddy!!!!     All of our walks are voluntary and walkers walk with us at their own risk.   No liability is accepted.

During the last village walk we discussed the option of walking to Ilminster so I am planning this walk for Tuesday March 4th.

Most of the walk will be along local roads but we will be crossing fields at Chaffcombe Gate, Dowlish Wake and Moolham so good waterproof footwear will be needed.

There could be the option of coffee at Dowlish Wake and lunch at Ilminster

The planned route will be:-

Chaffcombe Village Hall -Chaffcombe Gate -Cricket Lane – Cricket Cross – Chard Lane – Dowlish Wake (possible coffee stop) – Moolham Lane – Moolham –  Ilminster Housing – Ilminster (possible lunch stop) return via No 30 bus.

If weather conditions require we might cut out Dowlish Wake and go along the length of Moolham Lane
If weather conditions are poor we will do a local walk instead

This walk will be subject to change if field conditions are poor and may be shortened if there is bad weather.

We could have good local views en route  if the weather is good

All our welcome to come.   Dogs can  accompany you provided they are always kept on a lead.     We try to arrange these monthly walks along our footpaths to clear the overgrowth on the footpaths and enjoy the scenery and each others’ company.     If you have any secateurs etc.  please free to bring them along – suitable gloves are advised if you are helping in this way.    If you would like to take photographs as we go please can you send these to Mary Butler (mary@chaff.fsnet.co.uk) for insertion on this website.    Thanks
