Villagers and walkers enjoyed the first Chaffcombe Village Hall coffee morning of the New Year on Jan 8th. A total of 36 people attended inspite of the road closure by Shepherd’s Purse. Trees were being pruned back to prevent electricity cables being damaged during further gales! (One huge tree at the Old Rectory has already been felled by John Puddock and Willow, after it landed on cables and cut off power for most of one day.) It’s been a Christmas of floods, gales and torrential rain!
£96.97 was donated for the village hall fund. The total included the hire charge.
The next coffee morning will be Weds 5th Feb 10.30-12, donations for Somerset Sight.
ALL WELCOME !!! Please bring bric-a-brac/ eggs/ books/jam etc for the bring and buy stall. Let’s hope for better weather by then!
