Next walk: Saturday 25th May – Flower Festival weekend (Bank Holiday) – meeting at the Church Car Park at 2.00 p.m. Perhaps come to see the Flower Festival first and then go back to the Village Hall for refreshments, toilets (soup being served at lunchtime on this day) before walking and then come back for a cream tea!! Weather permitting of course! Please wear suitable footwear as it will probably be very slippery and muddy!!!! All of our walks are voluntary and walkers walk with us at their own risk. No liability is accepted. The route we hope to take is:
We propose the following route, subject to weather conditions :-
Chaffcombe Church Car Park (2pm Start)-Summer Lane-Whitemore Hill-through Lydmarsh Farm Farm Yard- across fields to Young Copse-over Golf Course-Knapps Lane-Water Wheel-Chaffcombe Village Hall.
The route through Lydmarsh Farm Yard can be very mucky as well as the field entrance with long wet grass over the fields, so good foot-ware will be needed.
All our welcome to come. Dogs can accompany you provided they are always kept on a lead. We try to arrange these monthly walks along our footpaths to clear the overgrowth on the footpaths and enjoy the scenery and each others’ company. If you have any secateurs etc. please free to bring them along – suitable gloves are advised if you are helping in this way. If you would like to take photographs as we go please can you send these to Mary Butler (firstname.lastname@example.org) for insertion on this website. Thanks
We monitor the paths and rights of way within the parish by monthly walks around different parts of the network. If you enjoy fresh air, exercise and good company join us for an hour or two on the 1st Monday of the month from 10am at Chaffcombe Village Hall, TA20 4BJ. Just bring stout shoes, wellies, waterproofs and refreshments as required. Dogs can accompany you provided they are always kept on a lead.
Please send in your favourite walks of Chaffcombe Parish.
We will place them here on the website. You can also include your photographs.
