Mad Dogs and Englishmen Theatre Company was founded by Ann Courtney in 1995. Since then it has developed a unique style of ensemble playing with a recognisable amalgamation of physical theatre and strong text.

The company has a history of productions ranging from the classical Shakespeare summer tour to new writing and exciting adaptations.

Mad Dogs regularly runs workshops for schools, colleges and other organisations that see the relevance of drama technique within their own working structure. Projects are as diverse as our audiences.

As a regional touring company we are committed to developing new rural venues for performance and new audiences for theatre. The company aims to produce the highest quality work through the commitment and talents of all its members. Combining powerful writing and innovative direction with strong visual design, we seek to create a theatre, which inspires the audience and participants and engages them in the act of imagination.
