Pentecost Sunday Service – 23rd May

Dear all

Tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday!
We have been planning for an outdoor creative Communion service and inviting everyone to bring their own morning snacks and drinks.
The weather forecast is looking decidedly unsettled, and potentially (very appropriately for Pentecost) quite blowy.
I am therefore now planning the service to be indoors, in St John’s, at 10am.  It will be alot easier to shift outdoors if tomorrow brings unexpected dry and less dramatic weather rather than the other way around.
We have risk assessed the church and are confident that we can seat everyone appropriately with regard to COVID restrictions.  Please follow the directions of those stewarding as you arrive.  We will also have an area specifically for children and Rev Michelle will be leading an activity there very similar to the one I will be leading everyone else in.
The service is at 10am and will be an informal style service to celebrate Pentecost and be together in fellowship.
You are still invited to come with your morning refreshments!  We can serve tea and coffee to where you are sat in the church, and if you would like to receive that then please can you bring your own mug and take it home with you afterwards.
Masks will be required as you arrive, leave, and if you need to move around during the service (e.g. to use facilities).  Please do not move around the church after you have arrived unless absolutely necessary.  When you are sat we would ask that if possible you keep your mask on unless it is to consume refreshments and to receive the Sacrament.
I will audio record parts of the service tomorrow and put together a ‘video’ of music and words which will be uploaded later tomorrow for those unable to attend.
Really looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow to celebrate this joyous festival and what is effectively the Birthday of the Christian church!
