In the hope that you are all raring to go walking again I propose a trial village walk on Tuesday 1st September. I have a copy of the Rambler Guidance and Risk Assessment document for group walking and believe that being sensible walkers we could safely walk as a socially distant group.
We will need to observe social distancing and sharing of food and drink will not be allowed so you will have to bring your own supply of sweeties.
Any one misbehaving will be left to languish in the Chaffcombe Village Pound.
So this is what is proposed as a gentle walk to stretch the limbs:-
Chaffcombe Village Walk Tuesday 1st September at 10.00am
Village Hall -Knapps Lane – Sprays Hill – Cricket Lane (west) – Ashton – Knowle Lane – Woodhouse Farm – Chaffcombe Lane – Village Hall
As the weather is very variable at present the walk may be foreshortened on the day. Any cutting back required will be carried out as we go.
Hope that this appeals to you.
With schools returning next month it may be a good time to think about an “Out of Village Walk” away from the hotspots but see how Covid progresses.
